Completed May 2022
This property on Casa Buena Drive in Corte Madera offered the rare opportunity to revitalize a building within Marin County’s existing structural landscape and increase the supply of critically needed affordable housing. This former motel provides 18 small apartments for adults who have experienced homelessness in the Marin community.
The renovations were completed with partnership from the County of Marin, which purchased the site using funds from the state’s Project Homekey initiative. Operated by Homeward Bound of Marin, the program is one of the first such permanent supportive housing communities to open in California with Project Homekey support.
This project added kitchenettes for each apartment, created a community room, installed new fences and professional landscaping, and replaced the roof.
