California State University East Bay is known for award winning programs, expert instruction, small classes, a highly personalized learning environment—and a choice of more than 100 career-focused fields of study. The University's Master Plan for its scenic campus in the Hayward Hills overlooking San Francisco Bay creates a new gateway at the main parking area on the north side of campus. 

To showcase this entrance as a new main entrance to the campus, signaling the campus' "East Bay" brand, the concept for a monumental sculptural sign of three dimensional 10' high stainless steel letters spelling out the word "EAST BAY" was developed. 

Featuring programmable LED lighting at night and set on a raised plaza, the new sign serves as an icon for the university and landmark in the community.
